Thank you for visiting The Oxford Mental Health Network (OMHN). Our mission is to connect young people in Oxford and the surrounding area with the mental health resources they need.

Our privacy policy is here to tell you about how we collect data and use information from our site so that you can make informed choices about how you use

What data do we gather?

Data is collected by OMHN in two main ways.


  1. Through the site’s technology, which collects information on site visitors such as their unique IP addresses, computer browsers, and the specific actions taken on the site, such as page clicks
  2. Through correspondence, such as when you email us questions or requests

Why and how do we use it?

OMHN uses data in two main ways:


  1. To maintain communications with stakeholders, such as in the form of emails with information on events, and updates to our policies
  2. To conduct analyses on the way people use to enhance our services

We do NOT use data in the following ways:

  • Selling users’ data, such as IP addresses of site visitors
  • Share any other information that can be used to identify users, sometimes referred to as “personally-identifiable information” (PII), to any unaffiliated organizations, except as required by law due to claims and/or legal proceedings.

How we keep data safe

Electronic data is stored on secure computer systems controlled by OMHN team members and/or affiliated organizations, such as third party developers who help maintain our site. In some cases, data is stored by unaffiliated third party organizations such as Google or Facebook, particularly when users message us through those platforms.


Although we will take all reasonable measures to secure user data, we cannot guarantee its security on systems belonging to unaffiliated organizations, such as Google or Facebook. Likewise, OMHN is not responsible for data security on users’ local devices, such as when their use of appears in their browser’s internet history, or when it is registered by their own internet service provider (ISP).

Cookies: What they are and how we use them

Cookies are small pieces of data sent from a website and stored on users’ computer by the users’ web browser while the user is browsing. Cookies help websites remember information on particular users’ preferences and behavior, and facilitate certain functions on those sites. For example, we may use cookies to determine when a particular user visits our site more than once. We treat data collected by our use of Cookies in the same way as other user data on our site, pursuant to the same rules as described above.


If you do not want cookies from, you can opt-out when prompted upon entering the site. You can also configure your device’s browser to reject and/or delete cookies it has stored. Please keep in mind that disabling cookies may affect some of the features that you can access on

GDPR Compliance

The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area.


As a user of, GDPR gives you rights including:


  • Asking us for access to the data that we have on you, or to transfer this information to a third party
  • Restricting processing of your data, for example in our analysis of user behavior on the site
  • Refusing communications from us or our affiliates, including by being removed from our mailing/communications lists
  • Asking us to delete any personally-identifiable information associated with your use of
  • Being notified in the event that your data is affected by a data breach within 72 hours of the breach being detected (where feasible)


Please note that some of these rights are not automatic, and that OMHN reserves the right to discuss with you why we may be unable to comply with requests under certain circumstances.
